Let's be honest, grant writing is a challenge. It takes ambition, focus, and strategy to come up with a winning proposal and complementary project budget...all before a strict deadline. For emerging, mid-career, and professional artists, knowing how to budget your time and understanding the pieces of a grant application are important tools in your artist toolbox. Securing funding from a grant as an artist can enable you to pursue projects and partnerships that you may never attempt without that financial support. Grant awards can also increase your visibility in your field, not only enriching your creative process and project output with resource support, but also igniting interest in your work from new audiences.
This 2.5 hour workshop will dive into the moving parts of an artist's grant application from budding idea, to proposal development, partnerships, budget, outcomes, and reporting. I ask only that you bring an idea, a real-life project you've been pining to launch or a made-up creative endeavor you'll use to work through the layers of a successful grant application. There's no limit on which artistic media you choose for your project idea.
Please bring a notepad and pencil or laptop; no materials fee necessary.
