Traditional and Experimental Paper Marbling with Keith Garubba

This class focuses on the mesmerizing process of Paper Marbling, a craft that has a deep-rooted decorative tradition, yet plenty of room for discovery. Participants will create striking and professional-looking marbled papers that may be used in paper-craft or fine-art projects. Students will also leave with the skills necessary to prepare their own marbling materials and a few DIY marbling tools of their own. This survey workshop will cover the following: Water-based marbling methods, Suminigashi, Turkish Marbling, and Experimental Marbling. This is designed as an introductory experience in marbling, but will leave plenty of room for learning and experimentation even if you have some experience already.
