Beginning Ink Painting with Amber Zora
Saturday November 6th, 2021, 12-1:30pm via Zoom
Members: $55, Non-Members: $70, Materials Supplied by Students
Welcome to sumi-e ink painting! During this virtual workshop, you’ll be introduced to materials and essentials: paper, brushes, exploring brush strokes and controlling water. Participants use these brush stroke techniques to create botanical sketches and build texture onto your artworks. We will also look at the elements of composition and design principles in historical ink paintings to discover how others have used negative space.
You are encouraged to bring a photo reference of a scene (portrait, landscape, whatever!) you would like to paint with sumi-e ink. Participants will discuss different image transfer techniques and begin on our individual works. At the end of this course, you will have the techniques you need to complete your ink painting on your own.
Frontline Arts is now offering tuition assistance to eligible candidates. To apply, please fill out this form. All submissions must be completed by the sign up deadline.
