Join artist Len Merlo and discover new ways to create multi-layered Monotypes with exact registration of each layer. Participants will draw a basic composition to be used as a monotype the same size as their Monotype Plate. We will then transfer the drawing to the plate using Sharpie Markers.
Press set up will then be demonstrated to allow each participant to print a multi layered monotype. Basic press operation will be taught along with a foolproof registration system for layering. Using non-toxic Akua inks. We will use both direct ink application by painting as well as rolled ink surfaces using brayers. Reductive mark-making, printing textured surfaces and Collage techniques will also be demonstrated.
This class is open to all skill levels, and is a great way to develop compositions and imagery for any artistic work.
